We are able to change what we believe about certain situations and make ourselves able to adapt to different environments. This is something that was given to us by God to be able to do. We constantly look for ways to stay in our comfort zone so that we don't have to change any of our habits. The truth is, the place we are the most comfortable is the worst place for us. As long as we are changing the way we view things and situations, than we know for sure that we are are growing. Knowing that we do this gives us the opportunity to either change and adapt to the challenges faced or we can run from them. There is a concept of fight or flight. Fight means that you are willing to fight the situation, while flight means you run away. Everything in life has a fight or flight opportunity. It is too easy for us to just walk away from a situation instead of fighting it. Often if we fight it we are going to win, however, we have it set in our mind already that we aren't going to complete something and set ourselves up for failure. Knowing this what are we going to do different, fight or flight.

Greener Grass

I read this book the other day and the main focus of it was to inform us that people are always looking for the greener grass. They always want more and that is human nature. If you were to ask someone what they needed to be happy and they answered you they would always want something more than they have. Its hard be satisfied because nature tells us that we need more to be happy. How can we take life and not expect anything more than the daily bread. Just look at the example we have in the Lords prayer when they ask for their daily bread. Daily bread isn't something that you get extra but just the bare essentials needed to survive. So how are we so much happier when we have the simple things. The answer to this is because we appreciate the way God meant for life to be. How should we expect to be happy when all the material items in the world couldn't satisfy us. Nothing will ever take the place of God and thats just how it is. Your probably wondering where the greener grass comes into all of this. We are always looking for the greener grass but don't realize that others are looking at our grass. God has supplied all of us with what we need and we will always want something more but its better if we stayed with what are blessed with. Nothing is better than the individual gifts and blessings that God has given us. How can we give away what God gives us. Its good to think about how God thinks of us on a regular basis and brings things to us after thinking of the bare essentials. So I ask the question again, "What do we need to be happy". Happiness comes from everyday interaction with the father and nothing more. Through listening to him we can understand a little better how this world was created and what we were designed to do. Nothing can ever take the place of the person who made us individually. Its like one of those build a bear animals. You can pick it up and design anything that you want or need on it. This bear becomes yours and you love it more than if you were to just go buy one. This is how God is. He created every one of us to be who we were. Gods love can never be duplicated in the false happiness of material items

Unplugged

Enough is enough. The reason I choose not to watch the news is because it has nothing better to say than bad things happening in the world right now. When was the last time you heard someone praising something good that has happened during the day instead of telling you about every single murder that has happened since this afternoon. I was always told garbage in and garbage out. If you keep listening to the things that are being fed to you than nothing will come of your life but drama. This is a sad fact but i will stand by it till the end. Its time to help those in need but i dont think we have to bring up every murder. This is how I will always feel.

Facebook.

I love using facebook. Its a great way to reach out to everyone. You post something on this website and everyone can see what is going on in your life. You can post blogs and have people read and respond to them, what a way to communicate. On the down side though everyone gets to read all about your life and there is no way to hide it. If you change girlfriends someone will know. Or if you are trying to comment on someone elses page to say something, everyone will see what you just sent that person. It has its pros and its cons. On the plus side you also can keep up with this everchanging world. You can chat with people and even find people that you haven't seen since high school. It all good.

The biggest threat to the world today

The biggest threat that we can possibly have in the world today is politicians. One thing I found to be very useful in Christianity today is a chicken soup for the soul book. This little book has everything that you will ever face in your lifetime. It deals with everything that you might not even think would be there. The other thing In my opinion that I didn't find as useful is a little vase of holy water said to protect you against spirits. Just because a priest blessed it doesn't mean that it is useful..

Time management

I read a blog from Arron Chambers the other day and it really inspired to be a great steward of my time. I generally spend most of my time in ministry opportunities. I work at lake aurora christian camp and so most my time is used cleaning things on the weekend for the groups that come in and always making sure that they get what they need. Outside of camp I go to a christian college where I devote most my time to studying scripture and living in the moment. I love to catch up on my information about the bible and shapen my tools. However I do think that I need to spend more time carying out what God is teaching and a little less time pondering theology. You can think about theology your whole Life and miss opportunities because you are trying to figure out something that will never fully be comprehended. Now I am going to devote more of my time to the family and learn how to balance ministry and school at the same time.

Peace and God Bless

Obama's speach

I dont like the way Obama chooses his words in this speach. It was the day that the first plane crashed into one of towers followed by the second one just a little after that. Many have accepted this day as one of the worst days in history. Sometimes even worse than Pearl Harbor. Its always a good reminder to turn on the television and see all the memorial services going on for everyone involved with this date. It is a date to be remebered forever. Many turn on the televisions as leaders of cities and towns explain what happened on that day in everyone closes their eyes to pay respect for the many men and women who lost their lives in the trade center attacks. This is a day that unites us under God. That is something that is left out of a lot of things now. The one day we can sit and reflect on the God that was with all of them before they died, and could be with them right now. God Bless America wason everyones lips. A day of rememberence also turned into a day of prayer. Once again uniting everyone under one belief for a split second. Then eyes are opened and people have just in that period of time experienced Gods Blessing for our country. This is a day where all people are united standing up for this Godly nation. This video is one of many and despite a couple flaws it is a good video. The video can use a little less cheesy sayings. If you want to grap someones attention use popular culture. You don't have to be super cheesy and say it with a wierd face. You have to be able to reach all kinds of people and not just Christians. That is the other thing that bugs me about this movie. It says that it is a cool place for the Christians to be but never says anything about the non Christians. This means that it is a great hang out for those who have already accepted Christ as their savior but everyone else doesn't feel welcome. In my opinion you have a long way to go. Don't get me wrong, if you bring in Christians than good for you. You can hold in the people, but you need more outreach.

Witnessing using the internet

Everday we get on our computers and we waist most of our time reading through facebooks and webpages. Is it waisting our time sitting and reading endless blogs and status changes. How does this benefit us? What you don't know is that every second you spend online you are learning something new whether it is good or bad. Your mind never shuts off and you take in everything you see around you. This is the key for many Christians who want to find a way to reach the outside world. They are able to post blogs and respond to emails about our faith and love the connection that you get through that. In a split of a second you are able to reach someone a half of a world away. Its everday power that we can use for our advantage. Gradually over time men have been more successful at getting the word around. From horses to trains, than eventually to planes and cars. Internet in the new thing that helps us speak to people cities away. Think of the impact you can make in todays world. A world that runs completely off of technological advances. Also think of how many people use the internet from day to day. Almost everyone has a computer in their home and are able to get online. If you advertize using banners you can catch someones eye. Recently i have been trying this technique and it has worked and people have responded almost instantainiously. You can see the effects from this. The internet can save lives. You just have to be able to get on and donate some of your time.Peace and God Bless

Favorite Verse

Every Christian has a verse that has influenced them. One my my many favorite verse's in the bible is Psalms 1:1-6. Psalms is an amazing book that will challenge you in every aspect of your life. Whether you are going through a rough patch, or praising God for the food you eat, the book Psalms is the book for you. In this case, the writer of Psalms urges you to stay away from Satan and everything his way offers. You can just feel in the way he writes that he is speakng from experience and know the struggle's of the flesh. He also warns you of what you will be faced with in this life. It offers what the Lord wants with our life. There are lots of things that will tempt us in this world, but with this verse we can overcome anything. The Lord will be with you, even when you are tempted. Especially when life has you down and you feel like there is no other way. Life life the way God wants you to, and that is by staying out of sins path. Live up to the the sacrafice that has been made.

Peace and God Bless.
